Case of the Mondays

I am a grumpasaurus today. I didn't sleep well and well being in the same house with a boy for months straight is really starting to make us snappy at each other.

What did I do this weekend? I made a ton of starbucks cups!

Got to love those Harry Potter House Cups!

Unfortunately I flipped the colors for Ravenclaw and Gryffindor so I had to redo them! Thanks to someone's handy eye that spotted that in a Harry Potter Group on facebook!

Tom and I both have surfaces, and it's hard for me to tell whose is whose. So I finally decorated mine. Ya'll it was hard not to make it glitter leopard, but I thought that might be a little TOO Much.

I found this two color leopard svg for free at Culaya Designs and cut this out, then I took each of the spots and manually put it on my computer so that I would make sure to not cover the camera. I think it turned out amazing. and now i'm not trying to pick up his instead of mine.

The last big thing I tried to do was finish the lace on my shawl. I struggle through lace knitting. I appreciate the challange of it, but I really have to sit in a quiet room and talk myself through the pattern. Which is fine, but knitting in a quiet no noise room isn't exciting. So I don't go Oh! Let's knit lace.
I did do this shawl with a little lace border on it. Bring it on Home Shawl it's a dark navy, and pale pink one of my favorite color combinations. The yarn i'm using is Theres cashmere in this so it gives it a good drape and a soft halo.

After the third rip-out I finally decided to put in a life line. Those of you who don't know what a life line is in knitting, Basically it's a thread, or in my case dental floss) that i put through my work so that if I jack this up I don't have to rip back the whole thing. Just to the last point that I know is right. My needles actually have a little hole (they're interchangeable) so I stick the piece of floss or yarn into that hole and just work the row ( I try to get it in on a no pattern row - so the purl rows in this lace pattern) I just makes it easier if I muck it up. Especially in Lace but you can do it whenever. I like to do it in sweaters when i finish a section ( like increases or decreases or the yoke)
