Tuesday Trouble...
So Tuesday some of my girlfriends and I went on a knitting extravaganza adventure. We ended up going to Knitacality in Saluda, NC and OSuzannahs Yarn On Main. Knitacality is about an hour and a half from where our Favorite Yarn Store is and OSuzannah's is about 45 minutes or so. So a good day trip. And since it was near Asheville, we ended up taking the scenic route and it was just a gloriously beautiful day. We're trying to do a once a month adventure day. Not necessarily yarn related but just random adventures. It was an epic day.
I guess I would be considered a yarn shop snob. Not so much in the yarn itself (well maybe a little bit) but in atmosphere. I am gonna say in my yarn shop reviews I am completely biased because Ann's shop is so homey and welcoming, it is really really hard to beat that.
So there's lots of funny stories about what shenanigans happened, but the most epic of them all was the sad what might have been real but was probably fake sad donkey on the side of a country mountain road. You would have been there, but there was much laughter, especially since the second time we were driving past his general area and couldn't find it, but our driver was so busy looking for the sad real/fake donkey that she wasn't really paying attention to the road. pure shenanigans.
I'd like to add, and this is specifically for Knitacality, as fabulous as your store is (and it's pretty nice) the ... lack of willingness to help was a tidbit frustrating. If someone declares rather excitingly, that they "want to have this yarns baby" you should run around the counter and put it in their hands. Cause I would have made a sweater with that Camel, silk, merino, cashmere blend yarn.
I'm going to make these two sweaters, just you wait.
